This week, pastor Don takes a look at the familiar character of Gideon in the book of Judges. Once again, Scripture does not exalt Gideon as a model to follow, but of how God can use the seemingly weak and broken to accomplish His purposes. Through the story of Gideon, particularly towards the end, we are reminded to fix our eyes on Jesus, not on the men or women God uses. Before Gideon could be used by God to deliver the Israelites from their oppressors, he would have to deal with some pretty tough things in his own home and family situation. This is a good lesson for us to learn as well.
