Pastor Don wraps up his series on the book of Judges by reflecting on it's purpose. Again, we are reminded that the purpose of the book is not to set up 'heroes' to model, rather as a warning against doing what is right 'in our own eyes'. We see an almost identical situation outlined in Genesis 19 and again in Judges 19. In Genesis 19 the people who sinned were Canaanites, however by Judges 19, the people were the children of Israel. They had been Canaanized! When a people walk away from God and turn to idols, immorality is never far away, and that is exactly what has been happening throughout the book of Judges.
