This week, pastor Don looks at the 'second half' of Ephesians, and how it gets applied to our lives. The overwhelming theme of v.1-16 is that of 'unity'. In order for the church to function properly, we need to be united. We also need to realize that those God has put in the body, He has put there for a reason. We are to 'grow up' so that the rest of the body might function properly under our 'head', the Lord Jesus Christ. Unity is not something where we put aside all that matters in order to get along, Unity costs, peace costs, they cost the Lord Jesus His life! The reason we need to be equipped, is so we can do the work of ministry. The task is urgent, the time is short, there is no time to sit in the sidelines. Like the hymn puts it, 'there's a work for Jesus ... none but you can do'. The question remains, will you be determined to submit and be humble enough for God to use you and to be glorified through you, so the church can be built up, and God be glorified, so the world can see, and people can be saved?
