This week, pastor Don begins to look at the nature of suffering and the character of Job. He also discusses the two opposing views that most people camp on when it comes to God and suffering. We either believe that suffering is beyond His control and try to let him off the hook, or we believe that He is sovereign and allows suffering for His own divine purposes. While the second view may be more in line with the Bible's teaching on who God is, it does not make suffering any easier to endure. However, as in the case of Job, the faith of the one who has gone through the trial/s or suffering, is increased so that his impression of God is greater too.
