This week, pastor Don looks at the first 9 verses of 2 Tim. 3. In this chapter, Paul warns Timothy about the difficulties that will come in the last days. The last days is the period between the ascention of the Lord Jesus into heaven and his return again in glory. The difficulties Paul mentions are not primarily to do with war, earthquakes and famines, but rather people. There are 3 areas to watch as we consider this passage. 1. The example we follow; 2. The godliness we practice (many appear to have a godliness but it has no power in it). Godliness without the cross is no godliness at all. 3. The Hope that one day evil will not triumph. Never underestimate what Jesus can do.
